Here are some pictures from our National Theatre production of The Boy Preference

Here’s some reaction to what was a superb show…

I’m still speechless over that staggeringly brilliant production. Simply extraordinary. And such an amazing joint effort; every single person did such a great job that it made the entire group the very best that they could be. I know they feel so proud of themselves and each other. And it’s no wonder.

I have to say that watching The Boy Preference last night was truly an incredible experience. I was expecting to be impressed but really that surpassed anything I could have imagined! From the very opening of the first scene I was captivated. The music, lighting and effects were amazing and the acting was something else. The atmosphere that was created was at times really quite chilling and the emotion from the actors just brilliant.

We saw The Boy Preference on Wednesday evening and thought it was outstanding. They are a terrific group and have come on in leaps and bounds – you must be very proud of them all.

I thought the staging and atmosphere created was excellent. I was particularly impressed with the bulldozer. L is thoroughly enjoying all his activities with Best and The Byte. The Boy Preference has been a particular highlight and he has really enjoyed working on it with everyone. Yesterday a friend asked him if he was relieved it was over and his answer was “no this it what I want to do every day.”

In 2014 we performed a brand new play, This Is My Elephant, devised by the group and written by local playwright Anna Reynolds and course leader Lisa Schulberg at The Maltings Arts Theatre on 23/24 March. This toured to Greenwich Young People’s Festival on Sunday 6 April. Here are a few shots from the show…

We’ll always try support your work towards exams and auditions and aim to give each student the chance to try out new things in a very supportive and positive environment.

Classes are led by Lisa Schulberg, Artistic Director of Best School of Acting and leader of Tip of the Iceberg Theatre Company.

Fees are £190 per term, and the group meets every term-time Wednesday at The Maltings Arts Theatre from 6pm-8pm.

Come and join us! Download a registration form here and there’s a free trial available so you can see what it’s all about.

BYTE students also often put together their own portfolio of classes from those available through Best, including LAMDA, private singing classes and audition and monologue classes.

But it is amazing how quickly that changes as we help them grow the confidence to move forward.
