If you’re looking for a way for your children (aged 3 to 16) to have a brilliant time, burn off some energy, improve their confidence, and meet new friends, look no further than our fantastic holiday courses that run during the school holidays from 10am-4pm daily, usually Monday to Friday.
How our holiday camps work…A Best Theatre Arts holiday camp is not just a drama class, a singing class or a dancing class – it is a place for making new friends, building confidence and having a fantastic time – a safe, friendly and dynamic atmosphere where even the most timid child will feel able to join in. Our students are split into two grouips – ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 16. Ages 3 to 5 have days packed with games, music, movement and craft – new experiences, new firends. By the end of thw eek they have developed their own section on our final show, rerady to experience the thrill of performing on the main stage with our older students. Ages 6 to 16 devise, script and perform a unique musical theatre show in just 5 days which they then perfrom for families and friends on the final day – an inspirational, proven approach, honed over 20 years. It also means that every week is different so children can come to as many as they like.
The resultWe use the SandPit Theatre for the final show and recently we’ve been trying new things, such as performing around the school campus promenade-style. But wherever we stage it, the final show is always a smash! And perhaps the best recommendation comes from the number of children who come back to our holiday courses year after year. No experience is necessary, and there are no auditions. Here’s the final show from the course we ran this Easter 29022 – West End Story…
This is what happened in 2021 summer coursesWonderland! 26-30 July (St Albans) Alice was older but wanted to return to Wonderland. This may have been a mistake! Somebody stole the tea (and the T’s) so Weeldedum and Weedledee and the Whie Rabbi got very confused! Here’s the show… Waitless 2-6 August (St Albans) Far away on the edge of space the Great Galactic Bake Off is in full swing with contestants from throughout the universe. In the meantime aliens were after our recipes and kidnapped humans via a black hole. We performed this outside and even had an immersive UV light experience! Hewre’s the show… The Lost World 9-13 August (St Albans) Stranded on a strange island by an evil pilot our adventurers went in search of the Golden Unicorn – and they kind of found it… Here’s that show too…
