Best School of Acting
Best School of Acting is a new concept in children’s part-time theatre training – a term time course offering professional training to young people interested in advancing their acting and drama skills. It’s a very sociable, exciting and supportive group which is enjoying huge popularity.

Based in St.Albans, the three-hour weekly sessions on term-time Saturday afternoons (2pm-5pm) are purely based around drama and performance.
The three 60 minute development classes are
- Performance – confidence, teamwork, voice, relaxation, mental well-being, devising, improvisation, exploration of acting styles and techniques leading towards productions
- Film & TV – The skills specfic to acting in front of the camera
- Professional – audition technique, monologues, self-taping, sight-reading, other stage roles (Lighting, design, make-up, stage management etc)
Each term features masterclasses and progressive curriculum building technique, knowledge and confidence and there are annual performances demonstrating some of the new techniques that have been learned.
The teachers are all industry teaching professionals who know how to pass on their skills to our students.
And many students who come to BSA to develop their technique combine this with attending our youth theatre group, TheBYTE to gain even more performance experience – putting what they’ve learned into practice.
We made the short film below a little while ago – we think it helps portray what BSA is all about! And we love seeing all those faces again and loving knowing what they’ve gone on to achieve.
